The second collaboration frame between DONTZER's NJS builders and BROTURES.
The concept is an adventure bike that can also be used off-road, just like the model name FANGO (=mud) suggests.

It is designed to accommodate the thick tires needed for off-road riding as well as for riding in urban areas, and all of the pipes are made from a durable material called chromoly, ensuring it is strong enough to withstand trick play.

[All the necessary elements for an adventure bike are fully equipped!]

In the past, fixed gear bikes could only accommodate tires up to 28mm in size, but the FANGO frame is designed for riding off-road as well as in the city! You can even enjoy doing tricks!
In order to provide a highly versatile ride, it is designed to accommodate tires up to 35mm in diameter.

The wide-profile frame, designed by a keirin builder, is in some ways a contradiction, but it is a one-of-a-kind bike that can seamlessly ride from on-road to off-road.
This model, which requires even harder braking, has a V-brake (cantilever brake) base, but also has a frame that is fully equipped with mounting holes for caliper brakes .
As riders become more diverse, bicycles are now required to perform a variety of functions in a variety of situations.
For example, if you switch from your current fixed gear bike to riding the FANGO, you can use most of the parts as they are, and if you want to take it to the mountains or camping and ride on trails, you can use V-brakes or cantilever brakes.
Such compatibility is also appealing.

[The main material chosen is an unconventional and extremely hard pipe!?]

To embody the concept of the bike, TANGE's CHAMPION NO.3 is used for the down tube, top tube, and head tube.
They are made using a tough material commonly known as "HEAVY DUTY TUBE" and are carefully crafted one by one by craftsmen.
This No. 3 is originally known as a pipe that supports hard riding on BMX and mountain bikes, but it is rarely used on fixed gear bikes.
This is extremely hard and sturdy.

Also, if you use this pipe on every section, the bike will be too stiff and simply difficult to ride.
Therefore, only the seat tube extending below the seat is made of the lightweight, flexible No. 2 pipe adopted by CLASSICO.
The difference in thickness is only 0.1mm, but this is an innovative idea that dramatically changes the feel of stepping on the pad and the pressure on your bottom more than the numbers suggest.

[The look is distinctively thick, unlike any other chromoly frame]

What makes this FANGO unique is that it is made up of slightly thicker pipes, rather than the 25.4mm or 28.6mm thickness typically found in chromoly frames and NJS frames.
It stands out from the simple, slim chromoly frames that you often see.
The top tube is 34.9mm and the down tube is 38.1mm.
It's hard to visualize from the numbers, but in person it is quite thick and has a very fresh look for a chromoly frame.

Other features include Kaisei pipes on the seat stays and Columbus on the chain stays. The fork is also luxuriously Columbus.
Handmade frames are overwhelmingly advantageous and beneficial in that they allow you to select the most effective tubes for each section.
This level of attention to detail would not be possible with mass-produced factory-made products.

[A miraculous geometry that allows you to ride off-road and has excellent acceleration]

This is the ultimate machine that combines the acceleration required for driving in the city with the off-road capability.
Generally, off-road bikes have a long wheelbase and slack head and seat angles, which gives them a stable ride.
Therefore, many people may think that the FANGO is not as comfortable to ride as other fixed gear bikes in urban areas.
However, the FANGO's aggressive geometry, with a high BB height and upright seat angle, inherited from track bikes, makes it a miraculous frame that even achieves acceleration performance .

What you can feel is that the frame itself feels solid when you hold it because it's made from a very rigid material, but it feels very light when you ride it.
A frame characterized by a smooth start.

[If you load your luggage, a two-day, one-night bicycle camping trip is no longer a dream]

One gimmick that I found interesting about this frame was the dowel holes in the rear end.
This makes it possible to install a rear carrier.
This is a structure that has not been seen in previous NJS frames.
Whether or not this is present greatly changes the bike's potential as an adventure bike.
A single tent, a cot, chairs and a table. All this gear was loaded onto the rear, and a front rack was installed to carry food and clothes.

I would love for you to try this new way of playing in the coming season. Movement becomes your gear, and movement becomes your play.

[Thoughts that DONTZER builders had while building FANGO]

Actually, this BROTURES × DONTZER project was put together by Tom Okazaki of TR Co., Ltd., who used to work as a mechanic at BROTURES. That's why I'm even more excited about it.

He is one of the few handmade builders in Japan and is rapidly growing in popularity, and each frame is carefully welded by him.
As a keirin builder, TR devotes all his energy to creating frames every day, and of course he handcrafts vehicles that are designed to be fast.
According to the builder, the FANGO frame is designed with strength and rigidity in mind.
This was a first for TR, and I feel that this collaboration represents a new challenge on a global scale.

It is no exaggeration to say that this frame truly symbolizes the age of diversification. These six frames are the appeal of FANGO.

However, there are still many specs and details packed into this frame that I can't write about here. For more information, please check out the YouTube video of BROTURES' chief mechanic, Fujimoto.

This is a rare frame limited to 15 pieces and made entirely to order.
Use it for commuting to work, and get out of the city on your days off for fun outdoors. All of these luxuries can be achieved with this one vehicle.
