Now looking back at KAGERO's history

“KAGERO” is a masterpiece frame that not only BROTURES customers but also piste riders have probably heard of.

KAGERO is currently a model of TYRANT BIKES, but its origins date back to 2011, including the LEADER era.

This time, I would like to look back on KAGERO along with its history and write a slightly emotional blog.

Sorry for the late reply, this is Ono, also known as Maldini, from the Harajuku store.

First of all, let's start with the origin of the name KAGERO.

When I asked SALU , the creator and CEO of LEADER TYRANT BIKES, who was visiting Japan in October, he told me that the name comes from a Japanese anime.

This is a period drama entertainment anime called Ninja Scroll that was released in 1993. Kagero , the female ninja who appears in this work, is the origin of KAGERO.

Well, that's surprising! I thought it was a somewhat Japanese-sounding model name, but I never expected it to be related to Japanese anime.

Now that we know about these surprising roots, let's take a closer look at the history of KAGERO.

First generation LEADER KAGERO (2011 model)

The first-generation KAGERO is a forward-sloping pursuit frame created in 2011 through a collaboration between LEADER and PEDAL CONSUMPTION , a portal site based in the bicycle city of Portland, USA that continues to provide core bicycle information . The frame made of No. 7005 aluminum is truly a racing spec, and is now a masterpiece that commands premium value. By the way, this 2011 KAGERO is driven by our manager Hiramoto, so if you would like to see it, please come and ask at the store. Maybe they'll let you test drive it. lol

2nd generation LEADER KAGERO (2013 model)

The second generation 2013 KAGERO continues to use No. 7005 aluminum since the 2011 model, and its tight and light ride has attracted many piste heads.
The rest is this distinctive navy color and yellow logo design. Speaking of KAGERO, many people imagine a dark silver frame, and this coloring seems to have created a big buzz!
3rd generation LEADER KAGERO (2015 model)
We are already introducing the third generation. The 2015 KAGERO, like the 725TR and 735TR , is an innovative model that dramatically improves rigidity and strength by making the head tube a tapered head. The logo design has also been stylishly renewed, and the 2015 KAGERO has a more urban finish.
4th generation LEADER KAGERO (2018 model)
Wow, the design looks a lot closer to the familiar current KAGERO. This is the 2018 model and the last KAGERO as a LEADER .
The fully remodeled frame uses 7046 aluminum . The 2018 KAGERO is even stronger than No. 7005, which was used up to the 2015 model, and is the lightest and highest quality finish ever.
Actually, I'm also aiming for this KAGERO, but it doesn't come out...
If you have one, please contact Ono. I will buy it at a high price. lol
5th generation TYRANT BIKES KAGERO (2019 model)
In 2019, TYRANT BIKES was born from the perspective of LEADER riders such as Emi Brwon and Patrick Thames , in order to realistically realize the world of riding the streets like you own. The new KAGERO was announced as the first model of the TYRANT brand.
The 2019 KAGERO uses a distinctive silhouette that continued from the 2018 model and the highest grade aluminum, No. 7046 aluminum, and has achieved an amazing weight of 1.6 kg with the industry's lightest frameset. Masu.
6th generation TYRANT BIKES KAGERO (current model)
It's hard to tell because the looks have been almost the same since the 2018 model, but this is the current KAGERO that was renewed in 2021!
This model has changed the frame material from 7046 to 6069 aluminum in order to make it easier to ride comfortably not only in races but also in city riding.Compared to past models, this model allows for far less tiring riding. . Thanks to the compact rear triangle and revised rigidity, the ride seems to have become even sharper.
We also produce many frames in seasonal colors and limited edition colors, and the current model is one that meets a wide range of needs.
KAGERO is good after all.
Nowadays, there are many high-spec frames on the market, but I have never seen a frame other than KAGERO that is still popular at the forefront of the industry despite undergoing model changes to match the times.
KAGERO has captivated so many people that there are fixie heads from Europe and South America who have come all the way from Europe and South America just to see this frame, and I think KAGERO will continue to captivate many people.
This is a nostalgic blog, but what do you think?
Some people may be moved by the nostalgia of those days,
There may be some people who are newly attracted to KAGERO's charm.
Personally, by writing this blog,
If one more person reaches out to KAGERO, I'll feel like I've made a small contribution.
Well then, it's time to say goodbye. In the end, let's all join together.
KAGERO FOREVER!!
