SLOW BURNIN' 2023 infiltration report

Hello, this is Tatsu from the Harajuku store.

He transferred from the Yokohama store exactly one month ago. If you are wondering who you are, I previously wrote a blog introducing myself.herePlease refer to the.

Aside from that, I participated in the Tracklocross category of Slow Squad International Presents SLOW BURNIN’ 2023, which was held as a pre-event of CMWC from September 16th to 18th, so I would like to tell you about it!

Track bike cyclocross, commonly known as Tracklocross, has become popular in recent years, and the sport of riding fixed gears on unpaved roads like an MTB has developed into a competition. SLOW BURNIN' 2023, which I participated in this time, was a race for tracross and cyclocross. It was a combination of rave, art show, photo show, pop-up and film festival, and it was a pretty crazy event where participants camped out and stayed at the venue for two days. Moreover, the remaining two days were a group ride heading to Yokohama, the venue for CMWC. If I had a day off, I would have participated too.

First, check the bike. As mentioned earlier, if you want to ride off-road on a fixie bike, you have to wear thick block tires.

LEADER Hurricane. If you have good intuition, you may have noticed that this is a trick frame. I usually do tricks, but for this tournament, I decided to try my own trick trick. I looked into it and it seems you can wear it up to 47c, but I don't think that's necessary...

This time's SLOW BURNIN' was influenced by CMWC, and many foreign messengers and members of Slow Squad International came to Japan.

From what I've heard from last year's SLOW BURNIN' participants, they say it's much harder and less gentle than other tracross races, so I'm a little nervous. Apparently, the course was one where you could carry your bicycle up a cliff, and I was nervous as I tried tracrossing for the first time, wondering if anyone other than idols would be climbing the cliff.

When I actually rode it, it felt like an MTB downhill, but it also felt like a beast road, and I was surprised to see that it was possible to go down on a piste without brakes like this.

Of course, there is also a place where you can get off and push your bike as you would expect from a truck, so it's busy getting on and off! It's also a matter of your own riding skills, but some riders ride without getting off.

So I ran the preliminaries and here are the results. . .

Not making it to the finals! At the beginning of the race, I collided with a rider in front of me and fell off the bike...I was hit all over the place and fell apart. I realized once again how difficult the narrow course is. By the way, my whole body hurts even now as I write this blog lol.

It was my first time racing, but it's been two years since I've raced properly, and I realized that I'm a lot more intuitive than I thought. My race ended here, but SLOW BURNIN' wasn't over yet, so I switched to enjoying the event.

Cycling and camping are the real pleasures of SLOW BURNIN'. Of course, you can also enjoy a rave while camping. During the event, the music never stops playing and it always feels like Take Me Higher!

At a rave, DJs, rappers, and bands take turns playing music all night long, so there's no time to rest! Even after the race award ceremony, a certain rapper provided a lively background and ignited the art as it reached its finale. This is SLOWBURNIN’

It was a very intense two days, but I still felt frustrated about the race. I want to get good results on my next track trip, so I'm thinking of taking a piste into the mountains to practice so I can get some revenge.

I plan to participate in more and more tracross races, so I plan to make full use of the knowledge I've gained there to respond to inquiries regarding the assembly of trach machines. If you are thinking of trying Torakuro for the first time, please come to our store and talk to us!

By the way, the next SLOW BURNIN’ 2024 is scheduled to be held in Mexico, so if you would like to go with us, please contact us.

This is my first attempt at tracross, and I am grateful to the people at Double Base who helped me assemble the car body, and to my friend and photographer who provided the photos.5TER4In this blog, I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Kusaka of the Naniwa Giant Slalom and the people at the CMWC booth who provided first aid after my fall. I'm really thankful to you.
