For me, it's definitely the feet! "Style starts from the feet up" is a phrase I learned back in middle school from the now-defunct fashion magazine SAMURAI ELO, and I've stuck by it ever since. In fashion, many think about sneakers or socks, and I do take my socks very seriously (self-proclaimed!).
My favorite brand is STANCE, which was launched in California in 2010. They're not just popular in street scenes like skateboarding, BMX, and snowboarding, but they've also been making game socks for top athletes in MLB and NBA.
Their socks are super comfortable and designed for a variety of sports—including running and golf, infused with a lot of passion. STANCE isn't just functional; it's incredibly stylish, too. It often collaborates with various brands—even once with Michael Jackson, making it a high-profile sock brand.
But I digress a bit. As someone who prides themselves on stylish feet, my recommended dress-up part for fixed gear bikes isn't a sock but the hub nuts on the front and rear wheels. They might not change your riding performance, but they sure do enhance your riding mood!
