I thought I would write about something relatively personal in today's blog.
All the custom introductions are kind of impersonal. I thought it would be a good idea to let you know a little bit about me, so I'm writing this.

As I mentioned in the title, I really like the brand "PAUL" and collect it often.
All the items made by this brand are cool.

To briefly explain the brand, PAUL is a bicycle parts brand that was established in 1989 in Chico, California. The first product is Quick release.
Since then, we have continued to create parts at our own pace that demonstrate PAUL's unique engineering spirit and aesthetic sense, with a unique stance that does not allow us to be swayed by popular trends.

I really like this stance.
A major feature of PAUL is that you can clearly see the attention to detail that mass production does not have when you look at the parts.

Basically, we mainly make geared items for road and MTB, but of course we also make high-precision truck hubs, and we have a wide variety of parts such as single brake levers and brake calipers.

Most of all, I love its looks. Although it is simple, it is very well-crafted down to the smallest details.
I'm currently using the brake lever and caliper.
Last year, as part of our year-end YouTube project, we introduced each staff member's favorite parts, and we talked about that as well.

PAUL RACER MIDIUM BRAKE

This is the brake caliper I use. I completely fell in love with the shape and bought it.
The mechanism uses a drive method called center pull, but this is also troublesome to install.
Attach a hook to the bridge-like wire and attach the brake wire there.
It's so annoying that once you put it on, you'll want to take a break. But that's good.

Also, I use PAUL's MOON UNIT hook, which I bought separately.
It also comes in a wide variety of colors, so I'm happy to be able to choose the color that suits me.
In fact, PAUL is also good at alumite.
Once a year, we release parts in spot colors, and each time we create cute colors.
It really hits home for people like me who love color.
I wear MOON UNIT in different colors on the front and rear. It's fun because you can do customization like that.

Originally there was a long reach type called RACER, which was 57mm to 67mm, but this brake has a reach of 47mm to 57mm, so it is designed to be easy to use on piste frames.
Of course you can install it with RACER, but I chose this one because I wanted it to be more compact and I liked the shape of the molars.
It weighs 157g per side, which is surprisingly lighter than SHIMANO's R7000. Even though it's so rugged.

PAUL RACER BRAKE SILVER One side ¥36,080-INTAX
This is the RACER available at the store. This matte silver gives it a nice flavor.
The brake shoes are for V brakes, but carbon shoes can also be installed by changing the fin.

PAUL END BRAKE LEVER POLISH
The brake lever is a type that is attached to the end of the handle, which is now out of stock.
This item is often envied by customers and makes their noses grow longer.
The handlebar I'm currently using has a brake clamp diameter of 23.8", which makes it difficult to handle.
And this was something I could pinpoint. Now that I think about it, I may have chosen this handle to attach it.

PAUL LOVE LEVER SILVER ¥ 32,978-INTAX
These are the brake levers currently available in stores.
The LOVE lever is a versatile lever that can be used with 22.2" clamps that are compatible with everything from V-brakes to calipers.
A small bearing is installed in the part that serves as the fulcrum of the lever, and when you squeeze it, you can feel the brakes suddenly apply.
The best lever that allows you to apply the brakes without stress.
I am also aiming for this to use for KAGERO next time.

PAUL CROSS LEVER BLACK ¥ 29,150-INTAX
CROSS LEVER is used as a center brake for drop handlebars, bullhorns, etc.

It also has a beautiful shape.
This lever is assembled with a thicker shaft than the previous LOVE LEVER, so it is more sturdy.
The handlebar clamp part is openable and closeable, so you can remove the lever while wrapping the bar tape. It makes me feel good.

PAUL GINO LIGHT MOUNT ¥6,050-INTAX
This is the last one. It will be a light mount.
This is a completely selfish world. Just turn on the light.
But here too, it's made of alumite, so you can choose colors well, and it has a brand logo on it, so it has a presence even when you don't turn on the lights.
There is also a top cap type light mount, so if you want it to stand out, you can choose that.

What I have just introduced is just a small part of it.
But just looking at this makes me excited.
It's now possible to back-order some of the hubs, and spot colors can be ordered for the stem and seatpost, so I can't stop wanting more from PAUL.
I would like to continue collecting them in the future.

We pay close attention to each small part.
I'm sure that will lead to attachment.
