Ono goes to Spain. -Madrid-
Hola!! This is Ono, the nuclear warhead from the Harajuku store.
The long-awaited Golden Week will soon begin, have you decided what you'll be doing?
As for me, I took an early Golden Week holiday for 8 days from April 7th to April 15th and traveled to Spain !
Since this was my first trip abroad, I had a lot of hectic schedules even before I left the country, but I thought I would take this opportunity to write a blog about my memories of the trip.
First, let me briefly explain the purpose of my trip to Spain.
1. UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals Live
2. Eat authentic paella
3. Meet friends who live in Barcelona
I've roughly summarized it, but that's about it. There were many other things I wanted to do, but my main goal was the UEFA Champions League!!
(UEFA Champions League: A tournament organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to decide the strongest club team in Europe, held every year. Only the top 1-5 teams in the domestic league from the previous year are given the right to participate, and the best teams selected from each country gather and compete fiercely. Winning this tournament is a dream stage that is spoken of as the goal of soccer players all over the world.)
This season's Champions League has already reached the quarterfinals, and Real Madrid , a big fan of mine, is progressing smoothly.
The quarter-final matchups were decided on March 15th , and then I arranged for airfare, hotel and match tickets, so I finally finished all the arrangements on April 1st , six days before I left the country, which was a very whirlwind schedule .
On this trip, I spent a total of seven days in Spain, four days in Madrid, the capital of Spain, and three days in Barcelona, a famous tourist destination, so I'd like to look back on my trip in parts from Day 1 to Day 7 !
-Day.1-
Ono's knees were almost broken after the 20-hour long flight from Haneda to Paris and back again to Madrid, but he arrived safely in Madrid. Although he had about four hours until check-in time at his accommodation, he didn't have any particular plans so he just wandered around the center of Madrid.
-Day.2-
It's the second day in Madrid and the main event is already here.
On this day, I went to see the UEFA Champions League quarter-final between Real Madrid and Manchester City , the match of the century between the two favourites to win the championship!
-Day.3-
On the third day in Madrid, we continued watching the UEFA Champions League.
On this day, I watched a match between Atletico Madrid, which, like Real Madrid, is based in Madrid, and the prestigious German club Borussia Dortmund.
-Day.4-
Finally, it was my last day in Madrid. I walked around the center of Madrid all day with the goal of eating delicious paella. I also visited the so-called tourist sites such as the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Prado Museum, and Plaza Mayor, but I wasn't particularly interested in them, so I didn't take any photos...
Finally, I was able to eat authentic paella. I chose squid ink paella . There were many kinds and I couldn't decide, so I chose the one recommended by the waiter.
This was also delicious. It was my last day in Madrid and I finally felt like I was doing something Spanish .
I played until late that night and got back to my accommodation at around 11pm . The next day I was scheduled to move to Barcelona in the morning, so I gulped down some wine I bought at the supermarket and forced myself to sleep.
So that concludes "Ono Goes to Spain -Madrid Edition-" .
In the next episode, "Ono Goes to Spain - Barcelona Edition," that special guest will also be appearing, so please look forward to that as well.
