Jammin' VOL.20

Hello, this is Kazu.

Thank you very much to everyone who always comes to BROSAKA TRICK SCHOOL.
As we reach the milestone of our 20th event, we will be changing our name in a fresh start!

BROSAKA TRICK SHOOL renamed to Jammin'

Let me explain briefly why I changed the name, so even if you're not interested, please bear with me.

We've been going under the name BROSAKA TRICK SCHOOL for a little over a year now.
Anyone who has participated will know that the actual content is quite casual and completely different to what you would expect from a school.
Since it's a school, I thought I'd try and create a curriculum that resembles a school, and recently I've been changing the tricks I teach depending on the day.
However, after talking to various participants, I heard that some people felt a little hesitant to attend because it was called a school, and that it was difficult to participate in the advanced class days unless they could do a certain number of tricks.
We started it with the idea of creating a place where riders could casually gather and try out tricks, but it's turned out to be the exact opposite.
This is entirely my fault for coming up with the name in the first place. Lol

And from the next 20th episode, it will be "Jammin'"
I know it's an unfamiliar word, but is Jammin a patois word (a casual form of English) used in Jamaica, and is it similar to a dialect in Japan?
The meaning of this word comes from the English word "Jam." It mainly means dancing, having a good time and having fun!
Also, in jazz music, we call it a Jam session, right?
Similarly, when trick riders on BMX or fixed-gear bikes get together and ride freestyle, they are also called Jams.
So since it has both meanings, we decided to go with Jammin'.

Next time here↓

  • Location: Osaka Museum of History Square
  • Date: 7/6 (Sat)
  • Time 19:00~20:00
  • Rules No littering

There is only one rule: no littering!

The content remains the same as it was at the beginning, so enjoy it casually!
If you can teach tricks, please teach those who want to learn.
If you don't do tricks but are interested, you're welcome to just come and take a look.
You can ride at your own pace, and when you get tired you can take a break, talk about fixed-gear bikes, and then get a ride on someone else's fixed-gear bike.
It's a good time.

So, let's start again.
We hope you will continue to support "Jammin'"!
