Which one will you choose? ~721TR or CURE~

Hello, this is Kazu.

Even though I may look like this, I don't think I'm indecisive, but there are times when I feel like I am.
For example, when buying ice cream.
There are so many different types of vanilla ice cream out there, all at the same price. How do you decide?
I follow my heart, not my head.

Now, to the main topic.

Thankfully, there are now many more types of fixed gear bikes available than there used to be; there are discontinued models and new ones, and they come in a variety of materials and prices.

It's hard to decide... The brands we carry at BROTURES include LEADER, TYRANTBIKES, DOSNOVENTA, LOCAL BIKES, etc.
From there, you can narrow down your choices to some extent based on your budget and design, but the two that are often difficult to decide on are LEADER 721TR and CURE.
These two types are the same brand and price, so I think many people will be confused.
So in today's blog I'll be comparing the two!
If you're still wondering which one to choose, read on until the end!

LEADER 721

LEADER CURE complete bike ¥121,000-INTAX

These two types have been released by LEADER, a fixed gear bike brand founded in San Diego, USA.
As you can see from the photos, the basic parts configuration and price are almost the same for both.
For other color lineups, please check the links below!
I can really relate to the many factors to consider, such as parts configuration, price, frame color, etc.
So, from now on, I would like to solve the problems I am currently facing.
I'll narrow it down to three points and compare them, including my personal opinions!
1. Handlebar shape 2. Frame shape 3. Expansion

1.Handle Shape

・Left: 721TR drop handlebar ・Right: CURE riser handlebar

merit Demerit

drop

-Several handle positions available.
-Suitable for long distance cruising.
・People who are unfamiliar with the system find it difficult to operate.

Riser

・You can ride with your upper body upright.
・Easy to use for everything from city riding to tricks.
-There is only one handle position.
Not suitable for long distance cruising.

I set off on the piste using the riser handlebars.
The reason was simply that I preferred the look of it, and also because it was my first time riding a sports bike, I wasn't used to leaning forward, and I wasn't confident in my ability to operate drop handlebars properly.
I once drove from southern Osaka to Shiga prefecture with the steering wheel in that position, but it was really tough being able to only take one position...
Of course, there's nothing wrong with choosing based solely on appearance like I did, but as mentioned above, the characteristics of each handlebar shape are different, so if you take that into consideration when making your selection, I think it will be easier to imagine the situations in which you will be riding.

2.Frame shape

Top CURE Pursuit (top tube slopes downward from the saddle to the handlebars)
Bottom 721TR Horizontal (top tube parallel to the ground)

When you start researching fixed gear bikes, I think the first thing that catches your eye is the pursuit style.
It has a distinctive look.
When you ride it, it's just as you would imagine from the appearance, as it's easier to lean forward and have your center of gravity forward compared to a horizontal bike!
If you like the look of a fixed gear bike and want to ride with an aggressive attitude, we recommend the CURE.

Another thing is that the 721TR has an internal routine specification where the brakes pass through the inside of the frame, as shown in the photo.
In other words, there is no need to attach the brake outer to the frame with cable ties or the like, so the beauty of the frame is preserved and the look is neat!
Since CURE is not an internal routine, the brake outer is tied to the frame with cable ties.
If this is something you are concerned about, choose the 721TR!

3. Room for growth

From here on, we'll talk about customization , which is one of the best parts of fixed gear bikes.
The configuration of genuine parts is different from the LEADER 7 series 725TR and 735TR.

I think that means there is room for customization.
Depending on how you customize it, it will perform as you want.
So I built a custom bike based on what I imagined each of them would ride, and I'd like to give you a brief introduction to each one.

LEADER 721

The basic parts are all black, but the front and rear wheels have also been customized from the original wheels and the spoke color is Brands!
All black is cool, but it can look a little dull, so we added some playfulness to the spokes.
The handlebars have been customized from the original drop handlebars to riser handlebars, allowing it to be used for everything from city riding to tricks.

LEADER CURE

I like to build pursuit frames aggressively.
Both the front and rear wheels are made of carbon fiber, making the bike lightweight and stylish.
The handlebars have also been changed from riser handlebars to bullhorn handlebars, allowing for a more forward-leaning position.

How about?
Do you think you can choose your own partner?
Of course, there is nothing wrong with following your heart and choosing based on appearance alone.
However, I think it will be easier to choose if you compare them while imagining yourself taking just one step forward to get on like this.
